TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa police arrested Brandon Poor Friday after he stabbed a good Samaritan in the neck outside Brown’s Donuts near Pine and Yale.
According to police, Poor was seen waving a knife and starting fires across the street from the donut shop. When a female employee stepped outside for a break, Poor began walking aggressively toward her.
A 39-year-old man intervened to protect the employee. During the confrontation, Poor stabbed the man in the neck, inflicting serious injuries.
“Any kind of cuts anywhere on your neck is potentially fatal due to blood loss,” Tulsa Police Captain Richard Meulenberg said.
The victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Poor fled the scene but was quickly apprehended nearby. He was booked into Tulsa County Jail on charges of assault and battery with a deadly weapon. Police also noted that Poor had outstanding warrants, including failure to register as a sex offender.
Captain Meulenberg urged the public to avoid confronting violent individuals and instead contact law enforcement immediately.
“We thank the good Samaritans and witnesses who helped police during this incident. It takes the community and law enforcement working together to stop crime,” Meulenberg said.
