Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins tied to a Felony Lane Gang believed to be operating across several states.
The Aberdeen Police Department reported that officers responded to OrangeTheory Fitness on August 4 after a vehicle was broken into and items were stolen from inside. Investigators soon discovered that the incident matched a pattern seen in Southern Pines, Pinehurst, Foxfire, Pittsboro, High Point, and Fuquay-Varina.
According to officials, a multi-jurisdictional investigation confirmed the suspects were part of a Felony Lane Gang group that had been targeting vehicles at gyms across multiple states.
Detectives identified the suspect vehicle as a rental car and later found it at Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Surveillance footage from a bank in Cary led them to identify 48-year-old Victoria Tudor of Raleigh and 33-year-old Ethan Smith of Youngsville as suspects.
Warrants were issued on September 26. Smith has been charged with felony obtaining property by false pretenses, while Tudor faces felony conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses.
On November 7, officers with the Fuquay-Varina Police Department and the Raleigh Fugitive Task Force located Tudor and Smith. Both were brought before a Wake County magistrate and received $5,000 secured bonds.
Authorities say the case remains active as detectives continue coordinating with surrounding agencies to identify additional suspects.
All suspects and persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
