GRISWOLD, CT (WFSB) — A Connecticut state trooper has been arrested following a domestic disturbance in Griswold, officials confirmed Wednesday.
The trooper, Edward Joshua Gookin, 37, of Griswold, was taken into custody after state police responded to a reported altercation inside a residence at approximately 10:21 a.m..
Authorities determined that Gookin was the primary aggressor in the incident, which reportedly involved both verbal and physical conflict. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Gookin has been charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor offense. He was released on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
Following his arrest, the Connecticut State Police confirmed that Gookin has been placed on paid administrative duty pending the outcome of the internal investigation.
