Tripura Police Seizes 1.06 Lakh Meth Tablets, Arrests 3 Suspects

Major drug bust in Tripura leads to arrests and seizure worth Rs 5.5 crore

In a significant operation against drug trafficking, Tripura police successfully confiscated over 1.06 lakh methamphetamine tablets worth more than Rs 5.5 crore. The seizure took place in West Tripura district, with three individuals arrested in connection with the illegal trade.

The accused have been identified as Mohammad Babul Miah (45), Sipan Hussain (26), and Sanjay Miah (42). The arrests were made from Babul Miah’s residence in the Mahiskhala Chandinamura area on Thursday night.

The operation was spearheaded by Deba Prasad Roy, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Sadar, along with officers from the West Agartala police station. This raid is part of the ongoing efforts by the authorities to make Tripura a drug-free state, the police stated.
