Trichy Police Arrest Three for Ganja Possession in Separate Cases

Drugs worth over Rs5,000 seized from three accused

Trichy police arrested three individuals on Friday in two separate incidents for possessing ganja.

In the first case, E Pudur police apprehended M. Akilan (31) near a private college close to Panjappur bus stand. He was allegedly attempting to sell 500 grams of ganja worth Rs5,000 on Friday morning.

Later in the evening, the Prohibition Enforcement Wing (PEW) arrested K. Bharathkumar (34) and H. Sambu Singh (41) near a hotel on Bharathiyar Road, seizing 1.25 kilograms of ganja.

All three have been booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police stated that further investigation is ongoing to trace sources and other possible connections.
