BRYAN, Texas — A 29-year-old Bryan man, Trevor Norman, has been arrested and charged with murder after allegedly stabbing and killing his mother, Sylvia Harris, early Thursday morning.
The Bryan Police Department responded to a 911 call around 1:30 a.m. in the 3900 block of Olive Street. The caller, believed to be a relative, reported that her mother was being attacked by a family member armed with a knife.
Upon arrival, officers found Trevor Norman near the driveway, armed with a knife, and detained him without incident. Inside the home, police discovered Sylvia Harris with multiple stab wounds. She was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
According to the arrest affidavit, while being treated at the hospital for a cut on his finger, Norman admitted to a nurse, “I killed my mother.”
Norman is currently being held in the Brazos County Jail on a $500,000 bond for murder.
Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
