FLORAL CITY, Fla. — Trevor Kilpatrick, 33, was arrested Thursday afternoon following an armed robbery at the Liquor Plus Store in Floral City and a subsequent chase involving a stolen vehicle, according to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
Deputies responded to reports of a masked suspect inside the store, wearing a hoodie and brandishing a firearm while demanding money and cigarettes. After the robbery, Kilpatrick fled on foot across US 41 into nearby woods.
Minutes later, a K9 deputy spotted a vehicle reported stolen earlier that week. When deputies attempted a traffic stop, the driver sped away, leading to a pursuit down East Trails End Road. Kilpatrick lost control of the car, causing it to leave the roadway, then fled into the woods on foot.
The K9 deputy tracked Kilpatrick, who physically resisted arrest, prompting officers to use a taser to subdue him.
Following Kilpatrick’s arrest, deputies confirmed he was the robbery suspect. Evidence found in the vehicle included stolen money, cigarettes, and clothing matching the suspect’s description.
Kilpatrick faces numerous charges, including: robbery with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, grand theft of a firearm, grand theft of a motor vehicle, grand theft, resisting law enforcement with violence, fleeing and eluding, burglary of a dwelling, driving with a suspended license, and petit theft.
He is currently held without bond at the Citrus County Detention Center.
