Trevor J. Stewart Charged With Reckless Homicide After Man Fatally Struck by Truck
WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) – A 38-year-old man has died after being run over by a truck late Saturday night in southern Illinois, and a suspect is now facing multiple felony charges including reckless homicide.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called just before midnight on May 10 to the 11000 block of Saraville Road for a report of a man hit by a vehicle. Responders found the victim lying in a driveway after a truck allegedly ran over him.
He was airlifted toward a regional trauma center, but his condition worsened en route and the helicopter was diverted to Harrisburg Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead just before 2 a.m. on May 11. His name has not been publicly released.
Following an investigation, authorities executed a search warrant and identified Trevor J. Stewart as the suspect. He was arrested and charged with:
Reckless homicide
Aggravated driving under the influence
Obstructing justice
Reckless conduct
Stewart was booked into the Williamson County Jail. Officials said the investigation remains ongoing and that additional charges may follow.
