FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A former FedEx employee has been charged with lottery fraud, authorities say.

Trevor Jamir Hampton, 25, of Kingstree, was arrested last Thursday by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) and faces two counts of intent to defraud and counterfeit game tickets.

According to arrest warrants, on Aug. 19, Hampton admitted to taking South Carolina Education Lottery scratch-off tickets that had fallen out of a package while being shipped from the FedEx Ground facility in Florence. Video evidence reportedly shows Hampton attempting to redeem the tickets at Cruizers and Sav Mart in Florence.

Hampton was employed at the FedEx Ground facility when the theft occurred. He was released from the Florence County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
