Minot Man Arrested on Theft and Drug Delivery Charges
MINOT, ND — A 35-year-old man, Tray Britt Lachney, was arrested following investigations into two burglaries in Minot and found in possession of illegal drugs.
On January 26, police received a report of a storage unit break-in in northeast Minot where a radiator and A/C condenser for a Ford, valued at over $1,100, were stolen after the lock was cut.
On February 4, a work truck burglary was reported where tools worth more than $1,240 were taken from a damaged cabinet lock.
Reviewing surveillance footage, officers identified an older white Chevy Blazer linked to the crimes. Police located the vehicle and confirmed stolen items inside, including the radiator and the stolen tools.
Lachney was arrested for possession of stolen property. A subsequent search revealed multiple bags of fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin, drug paraphernalia, and over $4,500 in cash.
He faces several felony charges, including possession with intent to manufacture or deliver fentanyl analog, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of theft valued between $1,000 and $10,000.
Lachney’s trial is scheduled for October.
