A Warren man, Travis James Holdburg, 22, has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of a man found with a large cut across his neck.
Police and EMS responded late on May 31 to a Warren home, where they found Holdburg standing in the driveway. Upon entering the residence, first responders discovered the victim deceased with multiple injuries, including the fatal neck wound, according to Macomb County prosecutors.
Holdburg was arraigned Tuesday on one count of second-degree murder and was held on a $1 million bond. Conditions for release include wearing a GPS tether, no contact with witnesses, and staying at least a quarter mile away from the crime scene.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido described the incident as “a brutal and senseless act of violence” and pledged to pursue justice fully. “The sheer disregard for human life is both heartbreaking and unacceptable,” he said.
Holdburg is scheduled to return to court for a probable cause conference on June 10, with a preliminary examination set for June 17.
