YERINGTON, Nev. (KOLO) — A fugitive from Colorado was arrested in Yerington after police discovered drugs, weapons, and illegal items during a traffic stop.
On Thursday, July 24, at 9:47 p.m., a Yerington Police officer pulled over an unregistered off-road vehicle driving without headlights. The vehicle was using spotlights directed into oncoming traffic.
The driver, 58-year-old Travis Bullington, told officers he was passing through Yerington when his truck and travel trailer broke down, forcing him to park near a Raley’s store.
A records check revealed Bullington had a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of Colorado. A K9 unit conducted a sniff test, which alerted to narcotics.
Police located Bullington’s truck and trailer nearby. Another K9 sniff test of the vehicles also indicated the presence of drugs. A subsequent search uncovered:
~6 grams of methamphetamine
3 meth pipes
A digital gram scale
Small zip-lock baggies
A pellet gun
9mm ammunition
$2,000 in cash
Equipment related to the cultivation/manufacturing of psychedelic mushrooms
Bullington was booked into the Lyon County Jail and is being held without bail on the fugitive warrant. He faces additional charges including:
Manufacturing an illegal narcotic
Possession of narcotics for sale
Ex-felon in possession of a firearm
Possession of drug paraphernalia
His combined bail for the other charges totals $228,420.
