The Bilga police have arrested Balvir Singh, alias Mintu, a travel agent from Poadharra village, on charges of cheating. Investigating Officer (IO) Vijay Kumar confirmed that the arrest was made after a complaint from Parabhdeep Singh of Gumtali village, who alleged that he was duped of Rs 3.65 lakh by the accused.
According to the complaint, Balvir Singh had promised to send Parabhdeep abroad but failed to fulfill his commitment, leading to the financial loss. A case was registered against Balvir Singh in April 2024, and the police have now arrested him in connection with the fraud.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are looking into the details of the case to uncover any further fraudulent activities.
