Jefferson County Man Arrested in Major Drug Trafficking Bust
BIRMINGHAM, AL — A Jefferson County man, Travarius Dewaunkalis Daniel, 44, was arrested Wednesday following the execution of a search warrant in Birmingham.
Authorities from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, along with the US Marshal Service Task Force and Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force, located Daniel in the 9000 block of 14th Avenue North. He was wanted on charges of drug trafficking, as well as multiple counts of failure to appear in court.
During the search, deputies seized a large quantity of narcotics including 31.9 grams of heroin, 9.4 grams of oxycodone, 30.8 grams of methamphetamine, 12 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of synthetic marijuana, 446 grams of marijuana, and 90 grams of gabapentin.
In addition, several firearms were confiscated: a Remington 700 .270 rifle, ATA Arms 12-gauge shotgun, Palmetto State AK 47 (7.62×39), Glock 19 9mm pistol, and a Smith and Wesson .38 Special revolver. Ammunition, digital scales, and packaging materials were also found at the scene.
Daniel is currently being held at the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
