LA PLATA, Md. – A Waldorf man was arrested after two reported home invasions and a theft in La Plata on the evening of October 29, 2023.
Police responded around 8:39 p.m. to a residence in the 200 block of Hibiscus Court where a man had knocked on the door, then forced his way into the home when the resident answered. He quickly left without incident after being confronted by another occupant.
Shortly after, the same suspect entered a second home in the 100 block of Spanish Moss Drive after receiving no response at the door. Once inside, he stole clothing, electronics, candy, and an electric scooter before fleeing the scene.
Officers located and arrested the suspect, identified as Tramane Dorsey, 31, of Waldorf, Maryland, nearby on Kalmia Court. He was taken into custody without incident and is currently held at the Charles County Detention Center with no bond.
All of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the second homeowner.
