Canton Home Health Aide Charged with Stealing Over $8,000 from Patient

CANTON — Tracy N. Fifield, 47, a home healthcare aide from Canton, is facing two felony charges linked to an alleged identity theft and theft scheme, State Police reported.

On July 22, Fifield was charged with first-degree identity theft and third-degree grand larceny, both classified as Class D felonies. The charges stem from an investigation that began in January after law enforcement discovered Fifield had allegedly stolen more than $8,000 from a patient she cared for.

According to State Police, over two years of employment, Fifield used the victim’s credit cards and accounts for her own personal expenses without authorization.

Fifield was processed at the Canton State Police station and arraigned in Pierrepont Town Court. She was released on her own recognizance pending further proceedings.
