Tracee Postell Accused of $200K Halifax Health Fraud

Treasury manager allegedly used company cards for Disney

by Sophia Bennett

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A former Halifax Health treasury manager has been arrested after investigators say she used company credit cards to steal more than $200,000 for personal expenses, including trips to Disney World, online shopping, and other purchases.

Authorities identified the suspect as Tracee Notestine Postell, 49, of Ormond Beach, who was arrested on March 12. She remained in the Volusia County Branch Jail the following day on $100,000 bail.

Postell faces charges of grand theft over $100,000 and organized scheme to defraud over $50,000, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

Alleged misuse of corporate credit cards

Investigators said Postell used Halifax Health Chase Bank corporate credit cards for thousands of personal purchases for herself, family members, and friends.

Subpoena responses from 26 merchants showed that more than $230,000 had already been charged to the accounts. Authorities said the total amount could reach $500,000 once additional records are received from companies such as Amazon, Netflix, Booking.com, wireless providers, and financial services companies.

Records show Postell began working at Halifax Health in 2010 as an entry-level accountant and later became the organization’s account treasury manager. She was fired on Nov. 11, 2025, after suspicious transactions were discovered during an expense review.

Investigators examined credit card statements covering February 2022 through November 2025.

Amazon and Walmart purchases

Authorities said the largest spending category was Amazon, where Postell allegedly charged $102,810.77.

She also spent $90,127.63 at Walmart, purchasing items such as groceries, clothing, electronics, and subscription services.

In one case, investigators say Postell used the corporate card to purchase a Christmas tree, espresso machine, cappuccino maker, and knife set for a Facebook friend and had the items shipped to the person’s home.

Personal expenses and vehicle purchase

Investigators said Postell also used the credit cards for a variety of personal expenses, including:

$16,289.23 for repairs to her husband’s boat

$3,750 for boat storage

$15,767.38 to purchase a vehicle

$2,861.78 for home improvements

$2,700 for construction of a screened porch

$7,733.25 paid to a mobile home park

Authorities also discovered she paid $8,479.31 to an attorney for damages related to an at-fault traffic accident.

Disney World spending

Investigators said Postell also spent more than $30,000 at Walt Disney World Parks and Resorts, covering hotel stays, park tickets, rides, food, drinks, and special events for friends and family.

The report states she even paid for 143 ride photographs during visits to parks including Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

Insurance refund investigation

Deputies also found Postell paid $33,314.70 to USAA Auto Insurance using the corporate cards. Authorities say she later received a refund of $27,771.41, which investigators believe she kept.

Ongoing investigation

The case began after a Halifax Health corporate compliance executive reported suspicious charges on Dec. 4, 2025. Investigators seized three work laptops issued to Postell for forensic analysis.

Authorities say additional charges may be filed as more financial records are obtained
