THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) – Torrii Fedrick was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole on Thursday morning after being convicted of poisoning her husband, Phillip Fedrick, in 2021.
After a four-day trial, Fedrick was found guilty of malice murder, aggravated assault, and felony murder in connection to her husband’s death, confirmed Sheriff Tim Watkins.
The incident occurred in September 2021, when authorities were alerted by the coroner’s office after Phillip Fedrick’s sudden death. An autopsy revealed that ethylene glycol, a substance commonly found in antifreeze and brake fluid, was present in his system.
The Thomas County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) launched a 14-month investigation, which led to Fedrick’s arrest in November 2022.
Fedrick’s conviction and life sentence bring closure to a case that shocked the local community. Authorities continue to emphasize the serious consequences of poisoning and the devastating impact it can have on families.
