Topeka Man Arrested in Jackson County Meth Distribution Investigation

Multi-month drug probe leads to arrest with assistance from KBI

JACKSON COUNTY, Kansas — March 2026

A Topeka man was arrested Friday evening in Jackson County, Kansas in connection with an alleged methamphetamine distribution operation, authorities said.

According to Tim Morse, sheriff of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Charles Westin Alford, 40, of Topeka, Kansas, at about 7 p.m. on March 6.

The arrest occurred in the 3400 block of Northeast Hollow Road, where deputies took Alford into custody on a Jackson County District Court warrant.

Authorities said deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, carried out the arrest following a multi-month drug investigation conducted in collaboration with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Investigators allege the case is connected to illegal methamphetamine sales that took place earlier this year.

Charges

After his arrest, Alford was booked into the Jackson County Jail on the following charges:

Distribution of methamphetamine

No drug tax stamp for a controlled substance

Possession of drug paraphernalia

Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation as the case proceeds through the court system.
