Tonya June McDaniel Arrested for Theft at Winner’s Circle

Garrett County woman charged with stealing charity collection bin

OAKLAND, Md. — The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office arrested a local woman on Sept. 6 following a theft at the Winner’s Circle convenience store along Maryland Highway.

Deputies responded to reports that Tonya June McDaniel, 51, had stolen a collection bin placed on the counter intended for donations to the Southern Garrett Rescue Squad.

After investigating, deputies confirmed McDaniel took the container, which held an undisclosed amount of money.

McDaniel was charged with theft under $100 and transported to the Garrett County Detention Center, where she remains in custody.
