Mitchell Jr. Charged After Woman Found Severely Injured

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Chilton County authorities have arrested Tony Curtis Mitchell Jr. in connection with an attempted murder that occurred in Maplesville on Tuesday, April 29.

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with Maplesville Police Officers, responded to a distress call at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a woman with severe lacerations to both hands and possible internal injuries. She was immediately transported to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.

After an investigation, authorities identified Mitchell Jr. as the primary suspect in the attack. He was arrested in the early hours of Wednesday, April 30, and charged with attempted murder. Authorities have indicated that additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues.
