Tommy Higdon, a 70-year-old man, has been convicted and sentenced for methamphetamine-related crimes. He was found guilty of trafficking and possession of methamphetamine, according to a statement from the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit.
The conviction stemmed from a drug-related investigation carried out by the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force. Agents were investigating a home on Spring Lake Drive when Higdon unexpectedly approached in his pickup truck.
Agent Ryan Matthews reportedly caught Higdon off guard, and during the encounter, Higdon was seen attempting to conceal a black magnetic box near the truck’s center console. Upon searching the vehicle with consent, agents found approximately 40 grams of methamphetamine hidden inside the box.
As a result, Higdon was sentenced to 12 years in prison, followed by 18 years of probation and a $200,000 fine for his role in meth trafficking and possession.
