EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — Two men have been charged with felony theft after allegedly stealing more than $30,000 in merchandise from a retail store in Eden Prairie earlier this month.
According to criminal complaints filed on July 7 in Hennepin County District Court, Tommy Junior Clinton, 37, of St. Paul, and Angelo Maurice Wagner Jr., 36, of Minneapolis, entered a store in the 9700 block of Valley View Road on the morning of July 3. Surveillance and witness accounts allege the two filled bags with merchandise and exited the store without paying.
Store officials reported a total loss of $31,086.70.
Both Clinton and Wagner are charged with felony theft, which involves knowingly taking property without consent and with the intent to permanently deprive the owner. If convicted, they each face a maximum of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
As of Sunday, both suspects remained in custody at the Hennepin County Jail. Clinton’s bail is set at $20,000. Wagner remains jailed on a $40,000 bail and is also being held on multiple warrants and felony holds from other counties.
Clinton has pending felony charges in Minneapolis, including burglary and mail theft. Wagner has open criminal cases across Hennepin, Dakota, Scott, and Wright Counties, facing charges such as fleeing police, theft, and drug possession.
Clinton is scheduled for an omnibus hearing on July 17, while Wagner’s is set for August 5.
