TN Cyber Crime Wing Arrests 4 for Trafficking to Myanmar

Victims forced into cyber scams targeting Indians

by Ananya Mehta

The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing has arrested four men for trafficking at least 18 individuals from Tamil Nadu to Myanmar, where they were coerced into participating in cyber scams targeting people in India.

The accused, Manavaalan (35), Rajkumar (36), Deepak Dona (27), and John Abhishek Rajan, have been booked under charges of human trafficking and abduction.

The arrests came as part of “Operation Blue Triangle”, a coordinated investigation initiated following the recent repatriation of Indian nationals trapped in cyber scam hubs in Myanmar.

Superintendent of Police (Cyber Crime) I. Shahnaz stated that the accused were tracked based on statements from victims who were rescued from Myawaddy, Myanmar, by the local army. These statements provided crucial leads for the Cyber Crime Wing to identify and apprehend the traffickers.

Police investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the network and ensure that all victims are safely repatriated.
