Tirsana Batha Magar Arrested for Rs 12.3M Japan Job Scam

23-year-old accused of defrauding victims with fake Japan visas

KATHMANDU, Feb 10: Police have arrested 23-year-old Tirsana Batha Magar from Baijanath Rural Municipality-5, Banke, on charges of defrauding people by promising jobs in Japan.

According to a press release from the District Police Office, Banke, Magar allegedly collected Rs 12.3 million from several individuals, charging between Rs 1.4 to 1.5 million per person, by assuring them work visas for Japan.

Following a complaint, a case was registered at the Department of Foreign Employment, and an arrest warrant was issued. A police team from the Area Police Office Kohalpur, Banke, apprehended her and has initiated further investigation and legal proceedings.
