Timothy Walker and Nickolas Moore Arrested in Amherst County Theft Case

Two Men Face Multiple Felony Charges After Stolen Firearms and Explosives Found

AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) — Timothy L. Walker Jr. and Nickolas R. Moore were arrested in connection with multiple thefts that took place in January and February 2025 near Lexington Turnpike, according to the Amherst County Sheriff’s Office.

On February 24, deputies executed a search warrant at a residence on Gidsville Road, where they discovered stolen firearms and an improvised explosive device. Both men face multiple serious charges, including:

Grand larceny (felony)
Breaking and entering (felony)
Property damage (felony)
Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (felony)
Trespassing (misdemeanor)
Walker Jr., a resident of Amherst County, is being held in the Amherst County Adult Detention Center without bond. Moore, from Nelson County, is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.

Investigators indicated that additional charges may be forthcoming as they continue to investigate other larceny cases in the area. The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office has expressed gratitude to the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.
