Timothy Timmons Arrested for Albany Gas Station Murder

Suspect Charged in June 7 Shooting Death of Nikita McGriff

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – A man has been taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred on June 7 at an Exxon gas station on N. Slappey Boulevard in Albany.

According to the Albany Police Department (APD), 45-year-old Timothy Timmons has been arrested for the shooting death of 41-year-old Nikita McGriff.

Timmons was located after investigators received a tip from a social media post made by the APD regarding the case.

Warrants have been issued for the following charges against Timmons:

Murder

Aggravated Assault

Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime

Timmons has been booked into the Dougherty County Jail as the investigation continues.
