Two men were arrested in Onslow County following a traffic stop in Midway Park, where deputies discovered significant amounts of fentanyl. On Wednesday, October 30, at 10:53 p.m., Onslow County Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted a stop near Piney Green and Rocky Run roads. During the stop, deputies found 8.1 grams of fentanyl in the possession of the passenger, 43-year-old Timothy Earl Scott. Scott was subsequently arrested and charged with drug trafficking.
A week later, on Wednesday, November 6, at 3:41 p.m., a warrant was served for the driver, 71-year-old David Carroll of Jacksonville. Carroll was arrested without incident and faces several serious drug-related charges, including three counts of felony trafficking opium or heroin, felony maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for controlled substances, felony manufacturing a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed under an $85,000 secured bond and taken to the Onslow County Detention Center.
Carroll appeared in court the following Thursday, with his next scheduled appearance set for December 5 in Onslow County District Court.
