International TikTok sensation Khaby Lame has voluntarily departed the United States after being detained by immigration authorities for overstaying his visa.

The 25-year-old Italian citizen, who lives in Italy, was visiting the U.S. and was detained at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on June 6 for immigration violations. According to a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Lame entered the country on April 30 and exceeded the terms of his visa.

“US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detained Seringe Khabane Lame, 25, a citizen of Italy, June 6, at Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas, Nevada, for immigration violations,” the statement read. “Lame was granted voluntary departure June 6 and has since departed the US.”

Khaby Lame has not publicly addressed the detention, but fans expressed concern on his Instagram page. Some sympathized with the situation, noting the humiliation often tied to deportation, even when not involved in criminal activity.

With over 80 million followers on Instagram and more than 162 million on TikTok, Lame remains the most followed user on the platform as of 2025. He rose to global fame by posting silent, comedic videos that humorously debunk viral life hacks, captivating audiences worldwide with his expressive reactions instead of words.
