TIFFIN, Iowa — A local man, 56-year-old Kevin Grimm, has been arrested for attempting to resell $60,000 worth of stolen medical equipment from the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) in North Liberty.

Grimm faces several serious charges, including first-degree theft, ongoing criminal conduct, and prohibited act offenses, according to court documents.

The criminal complaint reveals that Grimm had been stealing medical devices for several months and reselling them online through platforms like eBay and Facebook Marketplace. He advertised the stolen items as “new” and sold them in bulk at discounted prices.

The equipment Grimm stole is regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is legally restricted to licensed physicians holding a valid national provider identification (NPI) number.

Kevin Grimm is currently held at the Johnson County Jail pending further legal action.
