The Hyderabad Special Operation Team (SOT), along with the Rajendranagar Central Crime Station (CCS) and Shabad Police, successfully solved a murder case and arrested the accused, Thummalapally Narender of Vikarabad district. The police recovered stolen property, including cash, liquor bottles, and a DVR, and also froze the accused’s bank account.
According to the police, on March 13, the watchman of Sri Durga Wines in Shabad town, Ch Bikshapathi, was found dead in a pool of blood. The SOT and CCS teams, alongside the Shabad crime team, quickly investigated the scene and traced clues that led them to the accused.
The investigation revealed that Bikshapathi had been sleeping in the permit room of the wine shop. On the night of March 12-13, Narender entered the compound by jumping over the rear wall, armed with tools. When Bikshapathi heard a noise and confronted him, Narender attacked him with a spade, killing him by striking him on the head.
After the murder, Narender stole Bikshapathi’s mobile, cash, and, using a chisel and hammer, broke into the wine shop’s premises. He stole Rs 40,000, liquor bottles, and the DVR, before escaping with the stolen items.
On Friday, the police arrested Narender at Sitarampur village in Shabad mandal and recovered the stolen property. Narender was previously involved in four burglaries in Bahadurpura and Attapur last year. This month, he had also committed theft at a wine shop in Nagarguda village of Shabad mandal.
