Three Vietnamese Nationals Arrested for Phone Theft in Cambodia

Suspects Targeted Villa at Shanghai Resort Casino

CHANHABURI DISTRICT, CAMBODIA – Three Vietnamese nationals have been arrested for allegedly stealing phones from a villa at the Shanghai Resort Casino in Cambodia.

The suspects, identified as Phieng Chong Thai (41), Phu Van Dong (27), and Pham Truong Hieu (33), were apprehended by Cambodian police on March 26, 2025, in connection with the theft at Villa V20 on the casino premises.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Chin Sophoeun, Chanthaburi District Police Chief, the suspects all reside in Vietnam but had no documented occupations.

During questioning, the three men confessed to the theft, admitting they had worked with an accomplice to steal multiple phones from the villa.

The suspects are currently detained at the Chanthaburi District Police Inspectorate, where authorities are preparing legal proceedings against them.
