LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Metro Police arrested three 18-year-olds Sunday who investigators believe were part of an organized vehicle theft crew involved in so-called “strike-style” thefts.
Police said detectives attempted a traffic stop on Dixie Highway involving a vehicle linked to the theft ring. The suspects — Parker Campbell, Caleb McClain, and Jahmari Crume — allegedly fled, prompting a multi-agency pursuit.
Authorities said the suspects were armed with a rifle, body armor, and police-style equipment. The pursuit involved LMPD’s Air Unit, Drone Unit, and 1st Division officers, as well as Indiana State Police, after the suspects crossed into Sellersburg, Indiana.
During the chase, Crume reportedly exited the vehicle and was captured following a brief foot pursuit. Police said the suspects discarded a rifle during the chase, which was later recovered by detectives.
Investigators said Campbell and McClain later switched into a stolen vehicle in Indiana, drove back into Louisville, and abandoned the car before fleeing into a parking garage near 4th and Main Street, where they were arrested without incident.
The suspects face multiple charges, including fleeing and evading police, criminal mischief, and theft by unlawful taking. Police said additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
