WAKE COUNTY, N.C. — Three Pitt County women were arrested Friday, Jan. 16, following a high-speed vehicle pursuit that began on I-40 East near I-87, according to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO).
Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle just before 11 a.m., but the driver failed to comply, leading to a pursuit across multiple roads including Poole Road, New Bern Avenue, I-440, I-87, and U.S. 64. The vehicle finally stopped at U.S. 64 and Shepard School Road, where the driver and a passenger reportedly switched seats during the chase.
All three occupants were taken into custody and face several charges:
Deziyah Santiago, 20:
Felony fleeing to elude arrest
Felony conspiracy
Speeding and reckless driving to endanger
Other related charges
Laqueisha Everett, 34:

Resisting a public officer
Tiffany Barrett, 31:

WCSO also served Barrett with multiple outstanding warrants, including driving with a revoked license. Warrants indicate Barrett allegedly conspired with Santiago and Everett to commit retail theft from stores including Kohl’s, TJ Maxx, Express, and Ross, reportedly using store bags and a magnetic device to remove security tags.
No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities said additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
