Gurugram police have arrested three more persons in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Ayush in Mujesar, bringing the total arrests to five.
The newly apprehended accused — Atul (19), Parsuram, and Ashish (24) — were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the fatal assault. Police said the attack occurred when Ayush and his friend Varun were returning home from work. A quarrel between Varun and the suspects reportedly triggered the assault on both young men.
Earlier, two other accused, Pankaj Singh (36) and Jilajit (20), who worked at the same private company as Ayush, were arrested on January 8. Ayush, a resident of Sector 23, had a long-standing dispute with the accused, according to police.
In a separate case, police clarified that the body of 22-year-old Deepak, found in Sector 62 on January 8, was not headless, contrary to some media reports. Yashpal Yadav, police spokesperson, said that although the body was decomposed, all parts, including the head, were intact. Deepak, a resident of Ashiyana Society, had been missing since December 17. The discovery sparked protests demanding the arrest of those responsible for his death.
