A tragic road accident occurred on the Nashik-Sambhajinagar highway in Yeola taluka, claiming three lives and seriously injuring four others late Tuesday night. The victims, pilgrims from Surat, Gujarat, were traveling to Shirdi for darshan when their SUV lost control near Erangaon, collided with a road divider, and toppled.
The deceased have been identified as Pranav Desai (40), Palakajaybhai Kapadia (35), and Sureshchandra Shahu (35). The injured passengers are Vishnu Chhakwala (28), Bipin Rana (49), Sagar Shah (30), and Vikram Uswal (42), admitted to a private hospital in Nashik.
Inspector Sandeep Mandlik confirmed that the SUV driver, Sagar Shah, lost control while attempting to avoid a collision with another vehicle.
A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for causing death due to negligence, rash driving, and related offences. Authorities are investigating the incident further.
