The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Agartala Railway Station arrested three inter-state drug peddlers early Monday morning, seizing a large quantity of dry Cannabis (Ganja) estimated to be worth around Rs 1.5 lakh on the black market.

The arrested individuals include Prahlad Kumar (36) and Ravita Devi (38), both residents of Bhagalpur district, Bihar, and Janmojoy Nunia (25) from Barakhai, Assam. The trio was intercepted during a routine inspection after they were observed acting suspiciously within the station premises.

Upon searching their belongings, the police recovered approximately 9 kilograms of ganja, which they were reportedly transporting interstate via long-distance train.

A specific case has been registered at Agartala GRPS under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The arrested have been produced before the local court, and police have sought remand for further interrogation to dismantle the suspected inter-state drug transportation network.

Investigations continue as authorities probe deeper into the extent of the operation.
