Three Connecticut Men Identified in New Castle Storage Facility Burglaries

Delaware State Police have identified three men from Connecticut in connection with a series of burglaries at storage facilities in New Castle, Delaware, that occurred last month. Authorities confirmed that two of the suspects have been arrested, while the third remains at large.

The burglaries took place at two Public Storage facilities in New Castle on November 12, 2024. The suspects allegedly gained access to the storage units using a fictitious account and a rented Home Depot van. Once inside, the men are believed to have stolen more than $35,000 worth of property and caused significant damage to the units.

The suspects were identified as Aaron Kearney, 25, from West Haven; Deshawn Sawyer, 26, from Stratford; and Darryck Norris, 31, from Waterbury. Investigators were able to identify the men through joint efforts with out-of-state law enforcement agencies. Warrants for their arrests were issued on charges of burglary, theft, and conspiracy.

Sawyer was arrested in Connecticut on December 17, 2024, and is awaiting extradition to Delaware to face multiple felony charges. Kearney turned himself in to Delaware State Police on December 18, 2024, where he was arraigned and released on a $47,000 unsecured bond.

Authorities continue to search for Norris, who is wanted on similar charges. Investigators are asking the public for assistance in locating him.
