A team from Basistha Police Station, acting on prior intelligence, intercepted two suspected burglars at Lalmati. The suspects were identified as Pranjit Kalita (29) and Dilip Saikia (27), both residents of Lakhimpur, and were apprehended at the scene.
In a separate operation, officials from Bhagaduttapur Outpost under Dispur Police Station solved a theft case within 24 hours of the complaint being lodged. The accused, Biki Chetry (25) of Krishna Nagar, was arrested following a rapid investigation.
Authorities are continuing to probe both cases to uncover any links to other criminal activities. Police praised the swift action and intelligence-led operations, which ensured the suspects were apprehended quickly.
