SPRINGBORO, Ohio – A joint investigation by Springboro police has led to the arrest of three suspects allegedly involved in mail theft and a check fraud operation that spans multiple states.
The arrests were made Sunday night after a Springboro detective, stationed near a frequently targeted blue USPS collection box on Pioneer Boulevard, witnessed a theft in progress.
Officers quickly moved in and arrested Enaudi Jendiel Jiminex Cruz, Yahir Nazario Reyes, and Joshua Hernandez.
All three suspects were booked into the Warren County Jail and are facing charges of:
Mail Theft
Tampering with Evidence
Possessing Criminal Tools
Springboro police believe the mail thefts are connected to a wider check fraud operation that involves multiple jurisdictions across state lines.
Authorities also revealed that one of the suspects is in the United States illegally and allegedly provided false identification at the time of arrest. However, the suspect’s identity was not specified.
“These arrests highlight the persistence and dedication of our detectives in bringing closure to several cases connected with this group,” said Springboro Police in a public statement.
The investigation remains ongoing and may lead to additional charges or arrests as law enforcement agencies continue working across state lines to dismantle the broader fraud ring.
