NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Three men were arrested early on April 9, 2025, after fleeing police in a stolen Nissan Maxima. The incident began at approximately 4:30 a.m. when Metro Nashville Police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in at an apartment complex on Brentridge Drive.
The victim of the theft told police that one of the suspects pointed a gun at them before stealing the vehicle. The victim provided officers with a description of the suspects’ car, which was later spotted traveling at high speed on Bell Road near I-24.
Police attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled before crashing into a wooded area on Rural Hill Road. Officers pursued on foot and apprehended all three suspects, identified as Deontay Staten, 22, De’Quaeveon Jackson, 18, and a 17-year-old male.
Staten was charged with vehicle theft, evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident, and being a fugitive from justice due to outstanding felony warrants in Kentucky. His bond was set at $98,000. Staten also has a prior vehicle theft conviction in Nashville.
Jackson faces charges of vehicle theft, evading arrest, and leaving the scene of an accident, with his bond set at $20,500. The 17-year-old suspect has been charged in Juvenile Court with similar offenses: vehicle theft, evading arrest, and leaving the scene of an accident.
