IRVING, Texas – Irving police have made three arrests in the murder case of Torrance Deveroex, which was highlighted earlier this month in FOX 4’s Trackdown series.
Deandre Williams, Kendrick Perry, and Roderick Danby have all been charged with murder in connection to the February 23 shooting death of Deveroex, the 37-year-old son of Dallas County Constable Deanna Hammond.
Williams was arrested Wednesday after a search warrant led police to a gun believed to be used in the crime. Perry and Danby were arrested the following day. While police have not yet disclosed what led them to the three suspects, surveillance video has provided key evidence in the case.
The video shows the three suspects approaching Deveroex’s home around 5 a.m. and shooting him through the door. One suspect wore a red hoodie, another wore a white hoodie, and the third had a red jacket. Though the actual shooting wasn’t captured on camera, gunshots could be heard in the footage. The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a dark-colored Honda or Acura sedan.
Deveroex was known for his positive impact in the community. He was an honor student and football player in high school, earning scholarships for his athletic achievements. He also mentored young boys, tutored his teammates, and coached little league football, leading his team to a championship twice last year.
Deveroex’s mother, Constable Deanna Hammond, reflected on her son’s life, saying, “This wasn’t his path. He mentored young boys, coached little league football, and took them to a championship twice last year.”
