Three Arrested in Murder of Arnav, .30 Bore Pistol Seized

Police uncover motive linked to revenge over previous assault

City police have arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of Arnav, a youth shot dead on April 13 in Smile Avenue, located in Nangli village. The police also recovered a .30 bore pistol and the motorcycle used in the crime.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Amanpreet Singh, alias Babblu (27) from Dayanand Nagar, Akashdeep Singh, alias Kashi (25) from Loharka, and Shera (26), a resident of Dayanand Nagar.

The victim, Arnav, also known as Lovepreet Singh, worked at a salon and was returning home after work on a scooter when he was shot. According to his father, Happy, Arnav was near the gate of his locality when unidentified assailants fired at him, leaving him dead on the spot. Happy further informed the police that his son had been receiving threats from several miscreants due to an old enmity.

Investigations revealed that the motive behind the murder was revenge. Arnav, along with his accomplices, had previously thrashed Harshbir Singh, alias Ansh, leaving him injured. Ansh was the nephew of Amanpreet Singh, who sought to avenge the attack. Amanpreet and his accomplices had carried out a recce of Arnav before executing the murder.

The arrested individuals have been taken into judicial custody, and further investigation is underway to understand the full scope of the crime and any other individuals involved.
