Three Arrested in Laredo Walmart Theft Case

Garcia, Longoria-Sanchez, and Urbina face charges

LAREDO, Texas – Three people were arrested after allegedly stealing merchandise from a Walmart store on San Bernardo Avenue, Laredo police reported.

Officers responded to a theft call at about 10:47 p.m. on Dec. 27 at the Walmart located at 5610 San Bernardo Ave. A preliminary investigation revealed that 40-year-old Enrique Alonso Garcia took several items from store shelves, placed them in a black backpack, and exited without paying. Garcia then got into a maroon Lincoln.

Police issued a lookout for the vehicle and later located a red Lincoln MKZ near the 4800 block of San Bernardo Ave. The driver was identified as 46-year-old Patricia Longoria-Sanchez, the front passenger as 36-year-old Rudy Urbina, and Garcia was in the backseat.

During questioning, Urbina allegedly admitted that Garcia was his neighbor and that he knew Garcia had stolen the merchandise, which was valued at approximately $350.

All three were arrested on charges of theft of property, a Class B misdemeanor, and engaging in organized criminal activity, a Class A misdemeanor.
