LAREDO, Texas – Three men were arrested after a New Year’s Day shooting in Laredo, with a fourth suspect still being sought, police said.

Officers responded around 2:49 p.m. on January 1 to a shots-fired call in the 5200 block of Galicia Lane. Preliminary reports indicated three to four young males were firing shots and were seen in a gray Ford Fusion.

The vehicle was stopped, and the occupants were identified as driver Eduardo Casiano, 18; front passenger Abraham Salazar, 17; and rear passenger Rodrigo Joel Flores, 20. During the stop, Flores allegedly tossed an object onto the street, later determined to be marijuana. Flores was initially arrested for possession and tampering with evidence.

The men told police that a fourth male had fired the shots and fled with an AR-style rifle. A search of the area recovered one casing in a backyard and four more in an empty lot.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Casiano, Salazar, and Flores for discharge of a firearm in a municipality. Authorities continue to search for the fourth suspect.
