Jammu and Kashmir Police in Gandhi Nagar have successfully solved two separate theft cases with the arrest of three accused and the recovery of stolen items, including a motorcycle and copper wire valued at Rs 80,000.
In the first case, Rinku, a resident of Valmiki Colony, reported that his motorcycle (JK02CP-6320) was stolen on July 5 from outside the RKM Gym at Green Belt Park. A police team, led by the SHO Gandhi Nagar and under the supervision of SDPO City South and SP South, quickly launched an investigation. Using technical surveillance and local inputs, the team arrested Manmeet Singh of Link Road, Simbal Camp. During questioning, Singh confessed to the theft, and the stolen motorcycle, worth Rs 55,000, was recovered from his possession.
In a second case (FIR No. 149/2025), police arrested Vishal Saini of Chatha and Dheeraj Joshi of Suhanjna, Phallian Mandal, for stealing copper wire. The stolen copper wire, valued at Rs 25,000, was recovered from their possession.
The investigation into both theft cases is ongoing, with the police scrutinizing the role of the accused in other similar incidents. Authorities have indicated that further recoveries and arrests are possible as the probe continues.
