The Madiaon police on Friday arrested three members of a burglary gang responsible for a high-value theft at the residence of Fatehpur SDM Anamika Srivastava, recovering stolen jewelry and cash worth nearly Rs 30 lakh. Authorities are still searching for two additional accomplices linked to the gang.
The burglary occurred at around 2:30 am on October 24, when the thieves scaled the boundary wall of the officer’s home in Sai City, Madiaon. A team intercepted the vehicle, arresting Zeeshan Ghazi alias Chhotu (22) of Chandakodar, Mohammad Arshad (25) of Abrar Nagar, Khurramnagar, and Riyaz (28) of Paigambarpur, Mahmudabad. Zeeshan and Arshad are brothers working in glass installation, while Riyaz is a tailor.
Madiaon SHO Shivanand Mishra said the trio confessed to the burglary and disclosed the names of the remaining two suspects, Imran and Addu. All three arrested individuals are habitual offenders, with Arshad having 22 criminal cases, including under the Gangsters Act. Background checks on the remaining accused are ongoing.
