Three Arrested in D.C. Apartment Burglary, Puppy Stolen

Police seek Shih Tzu “Cruz” after theft in East Capitol NE

Washington – Three people have been arrested after a burglary at an apartment in the 3500 block of East Capitol Street NE resulted in the theft of several items, including a small Shih Tzu puppy named “Cruz”, police reported.

The burglary occurred on March 1, when no one was home. About five days later, authorities arrested Cheyanne Williams, 28, Stephen Jackson, 27, and Kalete Johnson, 32, charging them with second-degree burglary.

Despite the arrests, police are still searching for Cruz. Anyone with information about the puppy’s whereabouts is urged to call 202-727-9099 or text 50411.
