Godda, Jharkhand: A shocking case of triple murder linked to superstition has emerged from Danga village in Godda district, where a couple and their minor son were allegedly killed on Monday night over suspicion of practising witchcraft.

Makku Baski (45)
Jeetnarayan Murmu (12)

Hemlal Murmu
Talababu Murmu
A police team led by SDPO Ashok Priyadarshi reached the village after receiving information and began an investigation. The blood-stained axe used in the murders was recovered from the scene.
During initial interrogation, the accused reportedly told police that they suspected the victims of practising witchcraft, which led to the brutal killings. All three accused have been booked under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including murder charges.

The victims’ married daughter, Sunita Murmu, has been informed.
The Godda District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) has taken suo motu cognizance of the case.
