TUSCALOOSA COUNTY, Ala. — Three men are facing multiple felony drug charges after a vehicle pursuit and narcotics investigation led to arrests on Tuesday, according to the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force (WANTF).
Around 10:40 a.m., a WANTF agent attempted to stop a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Southmont Drive and 51st Street. The driver refused to stop, leading officers on a chase along Old Montgomery Highway.
During the pursuit, officers observed the vehicle’s occupants throwing drugs and a handgun from the SUV. The chase ended when the driver, later identified as Christopher Andrew Pearson, abandoned the vehicle near Whisperwood Drive off Highway 82. He was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.
A passenger, Timothy Drake Hodo, was taken into custody and charged with:
Trafficking methamphetamine
Failure to affix a tax stamp
Tampering with physical evidence
A third suspect, Isaac Hugh Bonner, who was not involved in the chase, was arrested at a hotel. He faces charges of:
Trafficking fentanyl
Trafficking a controlled substance
Two counts of failure to affix a tax stamp
Possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance
All three men are currently held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail, awaiting a bond hearing.
